Spring Planning

Our planning was quite fruitful with many suggestions offered by all. Attending were Jim Ballard, Wes Evans and myself.

Christian Ardinger Fall Dinner

The fall dinner meeting of the Christian Ardinger Chapter, MDSSAR, will be held Wednesday, October 18th, at Western Sizzlin, 17567 York Rd, Hagerstown, MD 21740. We will convene at 6:30 PM.

Our program will include a discussion from author John Beakes. His books include; Light Horse Harry Lee in the American Revolution, Otho Holland Williams in the American Revolution, and Cool Deliberate Courage: John Eager Howard in the American Revolution.

Museum of the American Revolution Opening Ceremony

The Grand Opening of the museum occurs on Wednesday, April 19 the 242nd anniversary of the shot fired at Lexington in 1775. The Philadelphia, PA event will include Washington County’s SAR Christian Ardinger Chapter member Walter Evans in period garb carrying the Calvert Flag with musket bearing guards. He is joined by other members of the Maryland SAR, and those of the other states representing each of the13 colonies. The event will be aired live by CSPAN3. http://christian-ardinger.mdssar.org/

2017 Spring Meeting

The fall dinner meeting of the Christian Ardinger Chapter, MDSSAR, will be held Tuesday, May 9th, at Golden Corral, 17635 Valley Mall Rd. Hagerstown, Maryland 21740. We will convene at 6:30.

Our program will include a discussion of Jonathan Hager House Museum in the season ahead, as well as a bit about the history of Jonathan Hager, founder of ElizabethTowne, leading up to the American Revolution, and his son, Jonathan Hager Jr.’s experience serving in the American Revolution with guest Emily Conrad of City of Hagerstown Parks & Recreation.
